Fabrication · Welding · Machining · Finishing
Steel and aluminium work, made properly, in the South West of WA.
Schmick Industries cuts, forms, welds, machines and finishes metal for plant, transport, marine and agricultural jobs — from a single bracket to a full weldment.
How we work
A metal shop that finishes what it starts
Most fabrication jobs stall because they get handed between trades. We keep cutting, welding, machining and coating under one roof, so the part that leaves is the part you can bolt on.
-
Drawing or sketch
Send a DXF, a marked-up PDF, a phone photo of the broken part, or the part itself. We work from all four.
-
One shop, whole job
Profile cutting, folding, welding, machining and surface finishing are handled in-house, not subcontracted piecemeal.
-
Built for downtime
Breakdown repairs are quoted and scheduled around your plant's window, including on-site welding where the machine cannot move.
-
Local and registered
An Australian proprietary company based in Western Australia, working the South West and the corridor north to Perth.
Capabilities
What we make and repair
Six core lines of work. Anything outside them, ask — if we cannot do it in-house we will tell you straight away.
-
01 / Fabrication
Structural & sheet metal fabrication
Frames, skids, guarding, walkways, hoppers, chutes and brackets, cut and folded to your drawing in steel, stainless or aluminium.
-
02 / Welding
Welding & breakdown repair
MIG, TIG and stick work on plant, trailers, buckets, tanks and agricultural gear — in the workshop, or on your site when the machine is stuck.
-
03 / Machining
Machining & precision components
Turning, milling, boring and thread repair for shafts, bushes, pins, spacers and one-off replacement components.
-
04 / Finishing
Surface preparation & coating
Deburring, blast preparation and protective coating so fabricated work stands up to coastal air, wash-down and abrasive service.
-
05 / Maintenance
Shutdown & maintenance support
Wear plates, liners, replacement sections and change-out parts fabricated ahead of a planned shutdown so the window is not spent waiting.
-
06 / Drafting
Drafting, prototyping & short runs
Turning a sketch or a worn sample into a workable drawing, proving one part, then repeating it as a batch.
From enquiry to collection
Four steps, and you always know which one you are on
Fabrication goes wrong in the gaps — an unclear scope, a material substitution nobody mentioned, a job that quietly sits. We run every job through the same four steps and tell you when each one closes.
